TikTok Cinnamon Rolls

Trendy recipe videos are everywhere. Whether you’re on Insta, Facebook or TikTok, you’ve probably scrolled past a recipe video (or several!) today. If you’re like me, you think one of two things:

1) Whoa, we have got to try this!

2) Why would anyone put those things together?

The TikTok cinnamon rolls that were trending recently though had me invested. Just adding heavy whipping cream seemed to create a magic spell that made those cinnamon rolls look downright delectable. They looked larger, fluffier, tastier. I watched a lot of those videos, and then I tried out the recipe several times.

After some troubleshooting, this is the version I’m sticking with, and I’m sharing it with you so you don’t have to troubleshoot, or watch one of those videos 10,000 times to figure it out.

Once you pop these puppies out of the oven, you’ll see that they really are magically larger, fluffier, moister and more delicious than any cinnamon rolls you’ve ever made at home before. Trust me. Try them out with the recipe below and let us know what you think!

TikTok Cinnamon Rolls

What You Need:

1 can of Pillsbury Grands! cinnamon rolls (either with original or cream cheese icing)

1/2 cup of heavy whipping cream

1/2 stick of butter

1/2 cup of brown sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla

What You Do:

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees, per package directions.

2. Place the icing on top of the surface of your oven. The residual heat will soften it up as you make the recipe.

3. Place the cinnamon rolls in a round cake pan. I highly recommend cutting each cinnamon roll in half, then into thirds (6 chunks total per roll) with kitchen shears. Drop them all into the pan, and spread them out evenly. (We really liked the bite-sized pieces once they were baked, and we felt they cooked more evenly and absorbed the liquid better in small pieces rather than as six large cinnamon rolls.)

4. Pour the heavy whipping cream over the cinnamon roll pieces.

5. In a microwave-safe cup or bowl, melt the butter. I usually cut the butter into small pieces so it melts without spattering.

6. Stir in the brown sugar and the vanilla.

7. Pour over the cinnamon roll pieces.

8. Bake for 10 minutes, then remove from the oven. You will notice the tops are starting to crisp up, the bottoms are super moist, and there is a lot of liquid left to absorb.

9. Use a spoon to flip over each piece, then return to the oven. The drier tops are now on the bottom, so they will absorb the excess liquid.

10. Bake for 10 more minutes or until desired doneness is reached.

11. Remove from the oven and use a spoon to drizzle the icing over the top of the cinnamon rolls.

12. Spoon a serving into a bowl and enjoy!
